Introduction
The purpose of
this experiment is to find out what happens to the surface tension of milk with
food coloring, when two different dishwashing soaps are added. The milk that is
being used is 1% low fat. The first dish soap being used is AJax with lemon. The
second one is Dawn Plus with fresh orange.
My hypothesis for this experiment is that the Dawn
dish soap will make the food coloring in the milk erupt more than the AJax dish
soap will. I got my experiment idea from Steve Spangler the Science Guy at
http://www.stevespanglerscience.com. I think this is interesting because you
really don’t know how soap affects surface tension of milk unless food coloring
is added. Also, I thought it was interesting because there are many different
kinds of soaps and to see which one would affect the milk more. When I started
the project I hoped to achieve to find which soap affected the milk more.
