Purpose

Our purpose in choosing this science project is to determine what causes exothermic and endothermic reactions. Our research and experiment will show one exothermic reaction and one endothermic reaction. This topic caught our attention because we were curious about how molecules play a part in objects getting colder or warmer.

Hypothesis

We predict that the temperature will rise when water is added to calcium chloride only a few degrees. We also predict that the temperature will drop a few degrees when ammonium nitrate and water are mixed together.
