What is a Coil gun

    A coil gun is a gun that uses an electromagnet to shoot a projectile.

How does it do this?

    The electromagnet pulls on the projectile and turns it off before it stops, to keep it going all the way out of the barrel. The electromagnet is powered by a simple disposable camera. The thing that supplyies the power to the flash is extremely high voltage flash capacitor that is like a battery but releases all of its energy at once and suddenly magnetizes the coil. This sudden burst of magnetism will pull the projectile along.
