Rube Goldberg was born July 4th, 1883 in San Francisco, California. Rube decided to go to the University of California Berkley and became an engineer. Rube had enjoyed drawing his whole life and wanted to become an artist. He begged his father for six months to leave his job, and his dad finally let him. He became an office boy at a sports department at a San Francisco Newspaper. After his artistic career took off, he started thinking of ways to make minimal jobs easier. This is what lead to the creations of his experiments and theories that are now famous to this day.
