After doing our experiment we concluded that when you substitute powdered sugar with regular sugar it does not have as good of crystal as the regular sugar.  When we substituted powdered sugar, the powdered sugar sank to the bottom and formed a substance that was indescribable. When we used sugar, on the other hand, the sugar dissolved into the water and it produced crystals on the string.
