For our research part of the project, we researched different types of flowers, Snapdragons, different fluids, and different types of soil.  We found all the information we needed and found some things that we were surprised to learn. Our research helped us complete our project well and more quickly.  If we hadn't done this research, our project may have taken longer to complete, or may have not worked at all.    

             Researching different types of flowers was the first step of our research.  We wanted a plant that would grow quickly, and since both of us have busy schedules, we wanted a plant that did not need much time and care.  After researching various plants, we came across the Snapdragon.  The Snapdragon originated in the Mediterranean.  Other than being watered, all that is required for the growth of a Snapdragon is full sun or partial shade.  They grow in two to three weeks, and only need to be planted six inches apart.

          Researching the different types of fluids we needed to use was a little more difficult.  At first we considered using Coke as a part of our experiment, but after researching it, we decided that Coke would kill the plant very quickly.  Instead, we decided to use club soda and Gatorade.  Since Gatorade has been proven to be the best hydrating sports drink, and club soda does not have as many chemicals as Coke, these fluids were the best for the experiment.

          After researching different types of soil, we decided that Miracle-Gro soil would be the best choice.  This soil has many nutrients for plants.  It also contains plant food mixed in with the soil.  Miracle-Gro helps plants grow, and therefore did not have an effect on the outcome of our experiment.

           Researching our project was very rewarding.  It helped us complete our experiment successfully.  We researched many things including Snapdragons, Coke, Gatorade, Club Soda, Miracle-Gro, and many other flowers and soils. We learned many things from all of our research.
