Experiment

The method I used to record my data is to measure how much water was in the pool in which I put the swim fins in then I measured the height of the water when I put in the swim fins in. I moved the swim fin that I used to represent the Beluga Whale fin up and down in the horizontal position and see how much the water in pushed up against the swimming pool. Then I do the Sharks fin and so on.
Things needed to do experiment:

1.      Baby Pool; to see how much water is displaced. Like the one shown here.

2.      Swim fins; to represent the fin of a Beluga Whale and a Great White Shark

3.      Notebook; to record data

4.      Ruler to measure water pushed in one stroke

 Steps for experiment:

1. Fill pool with water that is almost for then halfway to the top

2. Measure the water in the baby pool.

3. Grab your swim fins and turn them horizontally to represent the Beluga Whale fin. DON’T FORGET THAT THE BELUGA WHALE FIN SWISHES UP AND DOWN.

4. Measure how much water is pushed against the edge of the baby pool

5. Switch fins so that they are vertical. DON’T FORGET THAT A SHARKS SIN SWISHES FORM SIDE TO SIDE.

6. Measure the water pushed against the pools edge.
