Conclusion

Our experiment proved that without a doubt goldfish can be trained to associate certain visual cues with food.  For instance, they learned to associate us with the side they were fed on.   Only when they could not see us did they go to the side the card was on.  Before the fish learned the visuals they assumed the food would be on the right side, where we fed them first.  Our research shows us that the fish who have survived in nature are able to find food no matter what.  The one fish that learned quickly how to find food in our experiment would be the one to survive in nature.  Our experiment proves that not only are goldfish are smart, but that they are survivors as well.
