 Conclusion

Over the past four weeks we have been researching the growth of potatoes in waters of different temperatures. We had placed one potato in Refrigerated water, and another in a room temperature of 65 degrees Celsius. Our hypothesis was that the potato in refrigerated water would grow faster due to the potatoes’ natural capabilities to grow in extreme climates. However, the potato in room temperature water grew far quicker and more than that of the refrigerated potato. Leaving us to believe that the temperature in a refrigerator grew less because of the cooler temperature preventing the development of the necessary starches and bacteria that the common potato needs to grow. So we conclude that the best environment to grow potatoes in water is an area that is 65 degrees Celsius in temperature and is spread throughout an open space.
