Catholic Community
Bl. Pope John XXIII Roman Catholic School Community is a partnership of parents, students, staff and parish communities that nurtures the growth of the whole child in a Catholic faith-based education through a challenging academic environment.

In this Christ-centered atmosphere, the unique qualities of each student are recognized. Children are encouraged to be life-long learners, and are taught to be active Christian leaders throughout their lives.

Teachers Who Care
In addition to our principal and assistant principal, our faculty and staff includes 18 teachers, instructional assistants in grades K-7, 2 Spanish teachers, a media specialist, 2 nurses, a music teacher, physical education instructors, an art teacher, a school psychologist and a resource specialist.

Academics
PJXXIII has a solid academic program including instruction in religion, mathematics, language arts, reading, science, social studies, technology, physical education, Spanish, library/research skills and an integrated fine arts program.

PJXXIII is accredited through the North Central Association and WCEA. On average, students score above average on the standardized Iowa tests. Over 90% of our 8th grade students go on to Catholic preparatory high schools.

Modern Campus Facilities
PJXXIII offers modern facilities including classrooms equipped with SmartBoard technology, a technology media center, library, music room playground and athletic field. Technology literacy skills are integrated throughout the curriculum. Key support programs include hot lunch, a health office, counseling, instructional support services and extended care.
